ALLER PETFOOD FACES THE FUTURE WITH RENEWED VIGOUR

Like any family business, the Byllings had been keeping a close eye on where they saw the companies going in the future. “Recent changes in the Danish agricultural market had resulted in a dramatic shift in farmers’ requirements to the feedmill,” Henriette explains. “So we made the decision to sell the feed milling activities to Dan Aller Holding a part of the DLA Group. This has freed us up to focus exclusively on Aller Petfood.... The potential in the pet food market demonstrates that this is where our energies should lie – and although we may be sad about letting go of the feedmill side, we’re facing the future with renewed vigour and confidence!

Product development

Aller Petfood (Russia) was founded and based on a clear understanding of the need for high-quality, modern pet food. The company’s development strategy has allowed us to clearly determine the distribution channels for the finished product and to optimise the range of products and types of packaging.

At Aller Petfood we are constantly working on perfecting the recipes, developing new types of food and using innovative packaging solutions. In order to carry out this task, a working group including representatives from all of the company departments was set up, which is the main driving force behind the constant improvement in the quality of the product.

In order to fully understand and meet the needs of our customers, all of the nutritional criteria and ingredients of the products are approved by each individual client. All of the technical specifications are drawn up for each individual product, taking the needs of the client into consideration. This customer-friendly approach means that company employees developing the recipes have a clear understanding of what the client wants in terms of the final product.

All of the recipes are carefully tested for all nutritional criteria and we are therefore confident that pets will be more than happy to eat our products.

End consumer and expert opinions (vets, dog breeders, etc.) are one of the main criteria when improving the product.

In order to develop and improve the company’s activity, and to increase the professional level of the company's employees, the management has taken a strategic decision in close collaboration with the Department for Nutrition at the Saint Petersburg Academy of Veterinary Medicine to seek consultation and help in developing a new product, and has also carried out palatability tests with reliable and official results on the quality of the product. As a result of this collaboration, new types of food have been produced which take the biological needs of different groups of animals into consideration. These foods also take the age, level of activity and specific characteristics of the breed of animal into consideration.
